In response to volatile weather patterns, several emirates in the UAE, including Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Umm Al Quwain, and Sharjah, have announced the adoption of distance learning for private schools. This decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students amidst adverse weather forecasts.

Abu Dhabi activated remote study and work for both schools and government entities on Tuesday, April 16, as a precautionary measure against the inclement weather. Similarly, Ajman will transition to remote learning on April 16 and 17, while Umm Al Quwain has mandated remote learning for schools and nursery closures on April 16.
Joining the initiative, Sharjah has also enforced two days of remote learning for private school students due to hazardous weather conditions.
Previously, Dubai had announced a shift to remote learning for all private schools on April 16. Additionally, public schools across the UAE will conduct mandatory remote learning on April 16 and 17 to mitigate risks associated with the unstable weather.
