MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso actor Ken Chan has stirred controversy after being spotted enjoying the Songkran Festival in Thailand—while facing a Syndicated Estafa case back home.

A TikTok video, which has since been taken down, showed the actor in high spirits as he joined the famous water festival. The timing of his appearance raised eyebrows, given the legal trouble he currently faces in the Philippines.
According to ABS-CBN News, Atty. Joseph Noel Estrada confirmed that Chan is among eight individuals charged in connection with an investment scam, which prompted the filing of a Syndicated Estafa case. “There is a pending warrant for their arrest,” Estrada stated, adding that authorities recently attempted to serve the warrant at Chan’s residence but failed to locate him.
“Meron pong investment scam na naging basehan po nu’ng complaint at nakitaan ng piskalya na maiakyat po sa korte,” the lawyer explained. “Makasuhan ng Syndicated Estafa si Ken Chan kasama ‘yung co-accused.”
As legal proceedings continue, Chan’s public appearance abroad has drawn criticism and intensified public interest in the case. For now, the actor has yet to release a statement addressing the issue.
