MANILA, Philippines — Actor Gerald Anderson has admitted his role in the breakup with former partner Julia Barretto while firmly denying speculation that a third party was involved.

Showbiz reporter and talent manager Ogie Diaz, who has been closely following the couple’s split, revealed the development in the latest episode of his YouTube series uploaded on September 22. According to Diaz, Anderson personally reached out to him to clarify the matter.

Diaz quoted Anderson as saying that professional volleyball player Vanie Gandler had no involvement in the breakup. The actor also stressed that, contrary to rumors, he does not personally know or communicate with Gandler, dismissing persistent claims linking her to the controversy.

Anderson reportedly told Diaz that he is simply a fan of volleyball and nothing more.
