After a year-long legal dispute that captured the attention of K-pop fans worldwide, all five members of NewJeans are officially returning to ADOR. The decision comes after the Seoul Central District Court ruled against the group in their contract validity case, effectively upholding the agency’s exclusive agreement with the artists.

In a statement released on November 12, ADOR announced that members Haerin and Hyein would resume their activities under the label. “After thoughtful consideration with their respective families and thorough discussions with ADOR, the two members have decided to respect the court’s latest ruling and adhere to their exclusive contract,” the agency said. ADOR added that it would “provide full support to ensure the seamless continuation of their artistic endeavors,” urging fans to avoid speculation.
Shortly after, Minji, Hanni, and Danielle released a joint statement confirming their return. “After careful discussion, we have decided to return to ADOR. One member is currently in Antarctica so communication was delayed, but we wanted to clarify our position,” they shared, hinting at the logistical challenges of regrouping after the legal battle.
The reconciliation marks a dramatic turning point in the ADOR–NewJeans saga, which began when the group announced the termination of their exclusive contract in 2024, citing alleged violations by the label. The court ultimately rejected all of the group’s claims, emphasizing the binding nature of their agreement.
While the road ahead may not be free of tension, NewJeans’ decision to return to ADOR signals both a fresh start and a cautious peace — one that fans hope will refocus the spotlight on their music rather than their legal woes.
