MANILA, Philippines — Cote d’Ivoire’s Olivia Yace has officially resigned as Miss Universe Africa & Oceania, weeks after finishing as fourth runner-up at the Miss Universe 2025 coronation in Bangkok, Thailand.

In a heartfelt social media announcement, Yace emphasized her commitment to staying true to her values of respect, dignity, excellence, and equal opportunity. “With a heart full of gratitude and profound respect, I hereby announce my resignation from the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, as well as from any future affiliation with the Miss Universe Committee,” she wrote.
Yace highlighted the lessons she gained while competing, particularly the ability to overcome adversity. She also shared her Top 5 question-and-answer responses, where she encouraged young girls to confidently step into spaces where they might not be expected and to shine regardless of circumstances.
The Miss Cote d’Ivoire Committee (COMICI) confirmed Yace’s resignation, stating that she would formally return her sash and relinquish her continental title. Yace’s departure underscores her dedication to defending her principles while continuing her advocacy work outside the Miss Universe framework.
Miss Universe 2025 was won by Fatima Bosch of Mexico, with the Philippines’ Ahtisa Manalo placing third runner-up and winning Best National Costume and third place in the Beyond the Crown advocacy competition.
